BISS CAN CH Breugel’s Mystical Marcus – RIP

2022-07-17 / admin / In Loving Memory, Our Dogs

Mr. Marcus aka Buddy Dog

DOB: July 7th, 2010 – July 13th, 2022

Marcus was the pick male from my Versace x Turbo litter of 2010. Marcus’s show career lasted two short months where he racked up 8 Best of Breeds and a Group 3rd before going Best in Show at the Alberta Bouvier Specialty in 2012. Marcus lived with his co-owner Ron in Nelson BC. Thank you to Shaunna Bernardin and Connie Krohn for grooming and handling Marcus for me.

Miss Versace aka Sace

RIP: August 28th, 2007 – March 2nd, 2020

Versace died  at home on March 2nd, 2020 just a few months shy of her 13th birthday.  Even though Sace only had one litter of 9 puppies, she produced three champions and her great grand kids continue producing puppies with that sweet beautiful temperament.

Versace lived on Vancouver Island with her owner’s Ida and Bob where her day job was looking after all the chickens. Versace was pick female from Gus X Tawny litter of 2007. Sace had a beautiful litter of nine puppies on July 7th, 2010, Marcus, Tori and Nikita, three of the pups went to show homes and are Canadian Champions. Markus won the 2012 Alberta Bouvier Specialty, Tori took Best of Opposite and Best of Winners at the same show. Nikita was the first one to get her championship and was already retired from the show ring before Marcus and Tori ventured out into the show ring.  Thank you Bob and Ida for loving your Sace.

Miss Lexi aka Lexi Lou

RIP: May 18th, 2006 – February 2nd, 2020

Miss Lexie Lou died on Sunday February 2, 2020 just 4 months shy of her 14th birthday.  Lexus made some beautiful puppies and her grand kids and great grand kids will continue producing puppies with that  sweet, smart, loyal temperament.

Lexus was imported from the Vanenblikhoeve kennel in the Netherlands when she was just 10 weeks old. She finished her championship in four shows, taking Best Puppy in Group three days in a row and a Group 4. Lexus is by far the smartest dog I’ve ever had the pleasure to own. I am positive she considers all her options before making a decision. Lexi in her retirement lived with her adopted family  Janice & Mike and their other Breugel Bouvier Ruby out in Maple Ridge.  Thank you for loving her.

Rosie

Miss Rosie aka Rosie Rou

DOB: August 13th, 2016

Miss Rosie was my only female from my Dolly x Gus litter of 2016.  Thank goodness she made the cut and went out on the road with Larry Clark for a few short months in 2018 to get her championship title in conformation.  During her very short show career Miss Rosie racked up 6 Best of Breeds, 4 Group 3s, and a Group 2.  Thank you Larry!

Mr. Gus aka Awesome Gus

DOB: February 11th, 2005 – August 27th, 2017

Gus was my foundation stud dog, imported from Holland. He started his show career in April 2006 and completed his championship in style, taking Best of Breed three out of four days and a Group 3 at the Fraser Valley Dog Fanciers Show in October 2006. Also, worth mentioning is Gus’s sister Geske who is the 2006 World Champion Bouvier.  Mr. Gus has blessed us with many wonderful puppies with that world famous Vanenblikhoeve temperament. Gerard, I can’t thank you enough!

My Awesome Gus died in his sleep six days after Blaze.  Having two of my loyal companions die so close together has truly ripped my heart out.  There is not a day that goes by, that I’m not missing them both.

CAN CH Palay Blazen Max of Breugel – RIP

2019-02-17 / admin / In Loving Memory, Our Dogs

Mr. Blaze aka Snorten Norton

DOB: April 4th, 2008 – August 21st, 2017

Blaze was pick male from Gus X Tazz 2008 Litter. Blaze finished his CKC Championship in just 2 shows. His claim to fame thus far was beating the Specials and taking Best of Breed at just 7 months of age. His second show he took Best of Breed again for two consecutive days at 9 months of age.

A special thanks to Shannon Sheer for expertly showing Blaze through to his CKC championship. This ones for you Pat!

Blaze in his retirement took  over his mom’s job of protecting us all from our wonderful wildlife. Blaze would not let any of us out of his sight when we were out and about. It was quite amazing how he could come up with one location where he could watch us all at the same time. He was a remarkable dog and true to that stoic bouvier temperament that I love so much.  Mr. Blaze taught my newest Dutch import the ropes on how to protect us prior to his death.  I am forever thankful.

Mr. Blaze’s sudden death hit me like a ton of bricks.  He had a fantastic annual check-up in April and died of heart failure just five months later.  He did not show any signs of being ill until the last few days.  At the time, it just didn’t make any sense.  But now,  I do wonder if his grain free diet for all those years was the contributing factor?

CAN CH Angelbrin’s Turbo Powered – RIP

Mr. Turbo

July 2nd, 2002 – December 23rd, 2015

Turbo was bred by Joanne Wollman of Angelbrin kennels in Rockyview, Alberta. Joanne and I co-owned Turbo when he came to live with us when he was seven. Which is where he stayed until he was called home just before Christmas at the ripe old age of 13.5!

Turbo loved to go for car rides and would spend the rest of the day, spread-out in the back seat of the car, you couldn’t get him out once he was in! Well, not until you enticed him with food, his first love! I swear he could bounce 4 feet in the air, when his food dish came out. Mr. Turbo you blessed us with some very wonderful puppies and you are sadly missed.

Miss Tawny and Tawn Tawn

August 7th, 2002 – September 8th, 2015

Tawny was my very first Bouvier. She was very witty and a little bit of a manipulator. She should have been a retriever as her favourite pastimes were swimming and fetching whatever you would throw for her. I am quite sure she would have swum the Strait of Georgia had I let her. On her first ferry ride, she almost jumped over the railing to go swimming. Luckily I caught her by her collar in mid-air. She was my alpha female that is until Tazz came into our lives. Tazz was Patricia Groome’s (Palay) alpha female. Needless to say, you can only have one alpha in your home and since I promised Pat on her deathbed that I would look after Tazz, Tawny was rehomed and lived the life of Riley with Rob, Pauline & family in Calgary until her trip to the rainbow bridge just shortly after her 13th birthday. We miss you Tawny!

Mrs. Tazz aka Tazzy Wazzy

May 1st, 2002 – July 31st, 2012

Tazz or should I say Mrs. Tazz came to live with us when her owner Patricia Groome of Palay Perm Reg’d. bequeathed her to me. She was a Canadian champion and produced some very beautiful puppies in terms of temperament, health and beauty. Miss Tazz enjoyed many hours of laying in the shade at the end of a row, watching me garden and protecting me from our on-site bear, our neighborhood cougars, and coyotes. I miss you Tazzy

CAN CH Breugel’s Black Fire Maverick – Retired

2012-04-27 / admin / Retired

Mr. Maverick aka Maverick

DOB: April 27th, 2012

Maverick was the pick male from my Lexi x Marcus litter of 2012. Maverick’s show career took three dog shows, where he finished at the 2014 Alberta Bouvier Specialty taking Winners Dog. He is retired from the show ring and living with his foster owner Steve in Red Deer. Thank you to Trina McNeil and Connie Krohn for grooming and handling Maverick for me. Yes, it was a very short show season! The kind I like. And lastly, a sincere thank you to Deb and Steve for keeping him “show ready”, I know how hard that can be.

Mr. Buddy Man – RIP

2008-03-18 / admin / In Loving Memory, Our Dogs

BuddyBuddy aka Little Man and The Budster

September 2nd, 1993 – March 14th, 2008

Buddy was our little Bichon/Shih Tzu X that brought so much joy to our lives for 14.5 years. He was the little Buddy that could. He should have been a cat as he most definitely had 9 lives. Buddy had more health problems then not, including a near fatal bout of pancreatitis, allergic to everything under the sun, had an enlarged heart, seizures and survived two strokes and had numerous eye problems. Even through all his health problems he was our happy go lucky Buddy. He loved to go for car rides, loved to lie in the sun and enjoyed just hanging out under the coffee table (where the Bouvs would leave him alone). Buddy you’re sadly missed and will always be our little Bud.

Roxy – RIP

2006-08-28 / admin / In Loving Memory, Our Dogs

Miss Roxy, Roxy Roller and Roxy Rou

July 25th, 2003 – August 26th, 2006

Roxy my 2nd Bouvier, purchased locally was an absolute joy as a puppy, then at 18 months something went horribly wrong and she became a very unpredictable aggressive dog. After working with a master dog trainer for 18 months we had to do the unthinkable and have her euthanized at the age of three. Roxy was diagnosed with idiopathic aggression and considered by our master dog trainer “an accident just waiting to happen”. Unfortunately, that day came and will forever be etched in my mind. This gut-wrenching experience is the primary reason why I became a Bouvier breeder. I promised myself that I would do whatever it took to produce Bouvier puppies with sound temperament. Roxy Rou you will always be in my heart.
